This is where we speak to you regarding your individual requirements for childcare and arrange a suitable time and day to visit our nursery. You are most welcome to bring your child or children along with you on the day and our staff will be on hand to help entertain whilst we answer any questions you may have.

Nursery Visit

On the day of your visit at Butterfly Barns either our School Head or our Deputy Head will meet you. You will be given a tour of the nursery and a chance to meet our teachers and see our nursery children at work and play. You will have many opportunities to ask questions as you go round and time after to speak privately.

Offer of Admission

On receipt of your completed enrolment form & registration fee, a place will be reserved for your child. The registration fee is non-refundable should your child not take up the place offered.

A selection of dates will then be arranged for your settling-in sessions and a deposit will be required before attending any sessions. You will receive our home communication diary and information regarding our school uniform.

On application for a funded-only place, a registration fee and deposit is not required.

Settling in Sessions

We will initially book you in for three settling-in sessions; further sessions can be available if this is deemed necessary. The sessions will last for two hours.

Your first Settling-in session

On your first day with us we will require the parents to stay for the first hour. During this time our staff will complete an “All about me” form, which details all your child’s eating, sleeping and other preferences and requirements whilst in our care. We will also discuss what you can expect whilst a child is settling Upon leaving your child with us, a follow-up phone call will be offered enabling you to speak to your child’s key person to hear how your child is getting on. On your second visit we kindly ask the parent not to stay, but to drop off and leave their child for the full two hours. Again we will call to give feedback during this time.
